MicroArt Vitiligo Camouflage FAQ’s
The Color: Your technician will evaluate your skin color at the beginning of each session and choose a color or custom blend a color to match your skin tone.
Pigmentation: MicroArt Semi Permanent Makeup uses a single acupuncture needle that gently vibrates on the dermal layers of the skin depositing a mineral-based pigment into the skin and blending the pigment into the skin during each session until the vitiligo is completely camouflaged and the skin ton matches. This usually takes four (1-hour) sessions per 25 square inch (5”x5”) area.
YES! MicroArt has been used to camouflage vitiligo and other skin discolorations for over 6 years with amazing results on all clients. There are no know side effects and it is 100% safe to apply on people with vitiligo.
There will be some swelling and redness right after your treatment. This will take several days to disappear depending on what area of the body, how heavy we apply the pigment and the general health of the skin.
Right after your procedure, the color will appear harsher compared with how it is intended to look. After a few days, the skin will slightly exfoliate and the color will become lighter. It is important that you keep the procedure area clean and moisturized by only using MicroArt after-care products – which we provide to you at no additional cost.
No makeup should be worn on the area of skin that was pigmented for 7 days after each session.
$2,500.00 per 25 square inches. The price includes:
- Custom colors. MicroArt colors are custom blended to match the natural skin color.
- The procedure, four (1-hour) sessions and can camouflage 25 square inches (5”X5”) of skin.
- After-care products.
- Additional touch-up sessions are $500 per 1-hour session.
- Numbing shots can be scheduled with the doctors that we work with and are an additional cost if needed.
The level of discomfort varies from person to person depending on what area of the body that is being camouflaged. A strong topical numbing cream is used.

Numbing shots can be scheduled with the doctors that we work with and are an additional cost.
Numbing shots are required when we work on hands, as they are the most sensitive area of the body. In addition, recommended if we are working on procedures taking more than 3 hours at a time.
Maintenance appointments are optional. If you do not maintain MicroArt, it will completely fade away over time.
Everyone maintenance schedule is different based on the area of the body and how fast the skin exfoliates.
Some clients come in every few months for a touch up sessions and some only need to come in annually.
- Arrive to your appointment 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment, well rested and relaxed.
- If you wear makeup on the area that is being camouflaged. Please remove it prior to your appointment so that you can get the most out of the time during your session.
- Please do not wear light-colored clothing over the area that will be camouflaged as the skin might sweat a little pigment afterwards.
Numbing shots can be provided if scheduled in advanced. The nurse or doctor’s office in the building that we are located in administers them by. There is an additional $150 cost per session for shots that are paid directly to the doctor’s office. Numbing shots are mandatory when we work on hands, as they are very sensitive. All other areas are at your discussion.
We do not recommend this as lasers can lighten the pigment. MicroArt is your final solution and you will not need any other treatment as we can fully camouflage the desired area leaving lasers unnecessary. If you are in the middle of a treatment, we recommend finishing the treatment and start MicroArt when completed to finish the camouflaging in the area.
