Tanya York – CEO

Serial entrepreneur Tanya York started her career as a special effects makeup artist in the Hollywood movie industry over 20 years ago.  She is the founder and sole owner of MicroArt Inc. She has over 30 years of experience as a CEO.

Born in the Caribbean and lived in Europe for 8 years Tanya moved to Los Angeles at age 17. By 19 she discovered her love for the film industry and produced her first feature film.  By 21 Tanya raised money and started her first movie production company which produced 7 movies in the first 2 years.  Ms. York has a proven track record of producing films on schedule and on a budget that was highly profitable.  She has produced and financed 30+ movies in her career all of which have been profitable.  She has also distributed over a thousand films worldwide for DVD, television, and new media markets that were acquired from independent filmmakers.

The Hollywood Reporter named Tanya one of Hollywood’s most influential women when she was in her mid-20 and by the time she was in her 30’s she graced the cover of Entrepreneur magazine in the Young Millionaires issue. She has completed numerous executive management programs including MIT’s Sloan Business School’s “Birthing of Giants” program and the YPO-affiliated executive management program at Stanford University.

When Tanya is not working she spends her time with her son, traveling, playing competitive tennis, and practicing kundalini yoga.

Dr. Christopher Morgan – Clinic Director

 Dr Morgan was born and raised in Los Angeles, California.  He earned his BA in Biology and a minor in Economics from Brandeis University after which he graduated from Meharry Medical College.  After initially training in Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Arizona, Dr Morgan decided to change his focus to bariatric (weight loss) surgery. In 2018, Dr Morgan began working with MicroArt administering local anesthetic to many of the company’s clients.  Throughout his work with both bariatric and aesthetics patients, he has had the pleasure of working on teams with his colleagues to drastically change the lives of many people, thus having a enduring positive impact on their physical, and emotional well-being. 

 When Dr Morgan is not practicing medicine, he enjoys working on his photography, playing golf, reading, and attending art exhibits.  He also enjoys cooking, working out frequently, and spending time by the beach.

Sofia Torres – Chief Micro Artist

Sofia Torres is a Los Angeles native of Cuban American descent.  Sofia established a passion for beauty and cosmetics at a very young age.

Sofia was an established professional makeup artist at the age of 21 and within a year launched her own eyelash company. Over the next 5 years, Sofia enjoyed a diverse clientele while also providing makeup services for some of the top cosmetics brands in the nation. One of her most memorable moments was shooting a campaign with Tarte Cosmetics that spanned the globe from New York to Dubai. The campaign was in Sephora stores and her work was on the display banners.

Sofia’s talents, when put on display, also garnered a great deal of attention via social media. The “beauty-focused” YouTube channel she launched with her identical twin sister received over 19 million views and her Instagram tutorials attracted over 180k followers. In an effort to establish a solid foundation to build a career upon, Sofia has transitioned into the world of MicroArt seamlessly.  She has the ability to provide high-level services while making the client feel comfortable and the results look natural.

Todd Wiltse – Director of Client Services

Todd is a career customer service and marketing professional. Born and raised in Detroit, he has spent most of his adult life living in Los Angeles.

Todd has worked with Tanya York as a key member of her management team for over 25 years. Prior to joining Tanya when she founded MicroArt Makeup in 2009, he worked with her in Hollywood for fifteen years at her movie production and film distribution companies managing those marketing and client service departments.

At MicroArt, Todd is in charge of client consultation and scheduling, at which he enjoys taking and making client calls, responding to questions or email inquiries, and scheduling clients — many of whom fly in from all corners of the globe just for MicroArt. At times, he can also be found in the marketing department helping out with the firm’s website, digital marketing initiatives, and customer relationship management (CRM) software.

Out of the office, Todd loves being a father to his teenage son and is a lifelong avid musician playing guitar and ukulele.

Dr. Kourosh Modarress – Clinic Manager

Dr. Kourosh Modarress aka “Dr. K”  moved to California at the age of 12.  He attended High school in Long beach.  After graduating high school with honors, he chose to attend UCLA.  After receiving his Bachelor of Science from UCLA, he moved to London, England and continued his medical studies.  He was able to attend some of the most prestigious training centers in London, such as Great Oman Street Hospital and Institute of Neurology at Queen square.  After few years residing in Central London, studying medicine and finishing medical school, he returned back to U.S. and he was recruited by UCLA/ VA hospital to participate In nationwide study funded by Bristol Myers Squibb, one of the big pharmaceutical companies.  He was able to ascend to 2nd from top position as sub investigator in the department of endocrinology.  After successful completion of the research, Dr. K  collaborated with Dr. Rojas, the founder of successful plastic surgery center in Santa Monica, CA.      Dr. K under the supervision of Dr. Rojas was directly involved in many common procedures such as breast augmentations and reduction and blepharoplasty and  variety of dermatologic skin rejuvenation and anti-aging procedures.

Dr. K is now collaborating with Founder  of MicroArt Semi Permanent makeup, Tanya York.  He found her unparalleled technique and procedures to be very beneficial to the clients and is in pursuit of adding his knowledge and experience to the practice.

Amanda Lanzel – Micro Artist

Amanda Lanzel was born and raised in the midwest and relocated from Minneapolis, MN to Los Angeles in 2021 to grow her career in the beauty industry. Amanda has always had a flair for the arts and has been a professional makeup artist for over 10 years, specializing in weddings and special events & working for brands such as Lancôme, Estée Lauder and Sephora.

While Amanda was working for Sephora, she taught as a class facilitator for their “Classes for Confidence”. This sparked a passion and drive for helping others feel more confident about themselves. This along with a growing interest in semi-permanent makeup, led her to peruse a career at MicroArt to begin helping people in new ways. With Amanda’s background in makeup and the desire to make a difference in peoples lives, MicroArt is a natural fit.

When Amanda is not working at MicroArt, she enjoys listening to music, going to concerts, enjoying the beach, & exploring art galleries.

Paulina Torres – Clinic Assistant

Paulina Torres is a Los Angeles native and Cuban American born and raised in Glendale, California. She has always had a passion for the medical industry. Her mother is her biggest inspiration and is an emergency room nurse so that always created a drive in her to help others. Her years of experience in the medical field brings warmth and knowledge to the company that helps her maintain the same focus to keep things in order. Growing up with siblings in the makeup industry kept her fascinated with semi-permanent makeup ultimately leading her to the facility we have here.
